INNOVATIVE MEDIA CAMPAIGN HAS YOUTH APPEAL

Malahat Freestyle’s January-February multi-media campaign aimed at attracting new student applications got an “A” from University of Victoria. Focused heavily on online media, the advertising was part of a major recruitment effort by the university. The new campaign achieved triple-digit increases in some performance measures. It boasted a number of marketing “firsts” for UVic, including the use of Facebook as a core media choice, and banner ads on selected gaming websites to attract engineering students.

ENVIRONMENTAL ACCOUNT GAINS MOMENTUM
April 2008

The Malahat team has taken on a non-profit cause that’s got special relevance for the graphic design and printing industry. Sustainable Forestry Initiative Inc. (SFI), based in the US, manages a globally-recognized forest certification program covering 62 million hectares across North America. The SFI Standard, which is supported by conservation groups and endorsed by the global certification recognition body PEFC, is one the largest third-party forest certification programs in the world. That said, it is less well-known
to the public. Malahat is helping SFI Inc. raise its profile through a trade advertising campaign, new website and other initiatives to promote their “Good for you, good for our forests” positioning.
